CND Shellac – Romantique Swatches
By solessence in beauty , on 24 May 2011, 06:25
Pearl recently asked a few questions in a CND Swatches post about the color Romantique. I thought I’d go ahead and post additional swatches here because it might be helpful to others. Q: How many coats of Shellac have you applied for the swatches ? The salon I go to applies 2 coats and I dont get the same shade... Continue reading »

By in beauty , on 6 October 2010, 19:09
Throughout the month of October, I will be featuring products with proceeds going toward various breast cancer awareness charities. I'm not normally one for pale pink nail polish -- but in the case of Deborah Lippmann Shape of My Heart, I'll make an exception. I love the creamy texture and the rich opacity of the... Essie Mango Bango Swatches and Review
By Hlopushka in beauty , on 7 July 2011, 04:05
Mango Bango was a completely impulsive purchase. I was passing it by many times in CVS and never planned on buying, because I have a lot of red polishes. But….this time I did. I don’t know why “mango”, because there is nothing similar to mango colors for me in this nail polish. I would describe the color as... Continue reading »

night kisses with GOSH
By girlinthecityglasgow in beauty , on 23 October 2011, 13:01
Chanel's Le Vernis Nail Colour in Rouge Noir was my first ever posh polish; it immediately made me feel grown up, glamorous and at £17.50 a pop, really quite poor. Meet GOSH's Night Kiss** - at £5 this has to be the glossiest, most vamp high street equivalent I've found, and at deep blood opacity with only 2 coats... Continue reading »

Swatch - Rimmel I ♥ Lasting Finish Lively Lilac
By CucumPear in beauty , on 25 August 2011, 18:01
Oh, the woes of a lasting manicure. I still have my circuit board mani on, no chips, no tipwear. So here’s a swatch and review of Rimmel I ♥ Lasting Finish 170 Lively Lilac: Lively Lilac is a pale purple crème polish, I wouldn’t call it outright lilac since it has a lavender edge. It’s not the most flattering... Continue reading »

By Lipglossiping in beauty , on 30 March 2011, 08:15
If pastel pinks are your thing, you’re in for a treat! Now… I don’t wanna get too cultural about things (says the lady with the degree in Cultural Studies) but DUDE! What’s with calling a Mod Pink “Teddy Girl”… tsk. Names aside, Teddy Girl is a very striking pepto-bismol pink... Continue reading »

By Front Row Beauty in beauty , on 15 October 2011, 07:26
I thought I can have a small Chanel makeup break until the holiday collection arrives, but I caved in when I spotted the new Le Vernis Shades as part of the Chanel Rouge Allure Velvet collection. There are three new shades being released - Pirate, Rose Caché and Rose Exubérant, and a new limited edition topcoat... Continue reading »

The British fashion industry lost one of its legacy labels yesterday, as it was announced that British heritage brand Aquascutum had gone into administration. The fashion label, known for its trench coats, saw losses of £24 million in the previous year, and was unable to turnaround its ill health. Founded in 1851,... Continue reading »
Katy Perry Prayed To The God Of Chichis For Big Boobs
By Hecklerspray in entertainment , on 19 August 2009, 12:00
Katy Perry is blessed with many talents. She has a talent for dressing like a fruit without being hauled away by men in white coats. She has a talent for living in the 1950s. Most importantly, she has a talent for using her impressive breasts to distract people from her questionable musical talent. Breasts are the... Continue reading »
[NOTD] Rapid Ruby - Rimmel London 60 Seconds
By Sarahassan in beauty , on 15 April 2011, 05:06
Yes it's Friday and that means a "Nails of the day" post. Today, I am wearing "Rapid Ruby" by Rimmel London 60 seconds nail lacquer. Before I say anything, I just want to say that I was not a "wear-red-on-nails" person until now. I just thought red might not suit me but THIS shade changed my whole perception about the... By *Viva La Fashion* in fashion , on 2 May 2012, 13:21
natural light, three coats This is the first NOTD I've posted in ages. And that's because I haven't been wearing nail polish for the last month or so. I wanted something subtle to ease my way back into the nail polish world and I picked "Pink Before You Leap" from my collection because it is a beautiful mauve-y pink... Continue reading »
Orly "Fifty Four" and "Oh Cabana Boy" Nail Lacquers
By fivebyfive in beauty , on 15 January 2011, 12:10
These two pinks are from the Orly Hot Stuff collection. I did two coats of "Oh Cabana Boy" and either two or three coats of "Fifty Four" but either way it doesn't matter because it is SO SUBTLE that you can barely see it. I will say that in bright light it gives "Oh Cabana Boy" the tiniest bit of oomph but mostly I... Continue reading »
