You are newly registered on Hellocotton ? Here is how it works

Hellocotton allows you to follow the publications of talented women bloggers, that is Hellocotton members with a passion (for fashion, cooking, reading…) sharing with you the latest trends and their discoveries. As soon as you follow a member, all its updates are automatically visible on your newsfeed.

How to find talents to follow ?

To discover talents (members) on Hellocotton, the easy solution is to browse the talents directory, it is where all Hellocottom members are listed. You can filter by categories and discover "Celebrities" (the most popular members), newcomers (the newly arrived members) and up & coming talents (members with a popularity on the rise). The directory is available via The Members link located on the black bar at the top of Hellocotton. Click here to access the members directory.

Another way to discover members is by browsing the Headlines, then you can click on the member's name to visit her page, should you enjoy her publications, click on the "follow" button at the top of her page.

Everyday, discover the top blogs for each categories. The popularity is set according to various criteria, including the number of votes via the "I like this article" button. It is also a way to discover members you are not following yet.

"My newsfeed", what is it ?

It is the page through which you arrive when connecting to Hellocotton. It is where you will find the latest publications from the members you are following. Also where your can share a message, link, picture or video with the members following you. As soon as you have posted a message, it appears in your followers newsfeed who will then be able to comment it.

How to send a message or share a link, picture, video ?

At the top of "My newsfeed", click on the "Click here to share…" section. You can then write down your message and send it. You can also paste links to your articles, pictures or videos.

How to vote for an article or message I like ?

You click on the heart shaped icon located beneath every message.

How to heave a comment on an article or message I like ?

When it is a blog post, you can comment directly on the blog, or also leave a comment on Hellocotton by clicking on the speech bubble icon located beneath the article or message.

My blog (for the members who have one)

I just created a new blog or I have several blogs. Can I register them all on my Hellocotton page?

No, you have to create a page for each blog in order for Hellocotton members to be able to follow each and every of your blogs that they might be interested in.

The last article published on my blog doesn't show up on my page, why?

Start by waiting a few minutes, your article showing up on Hellocotton isn't instantaneous. Afterwards if the article still doesn't show up, send an email to contact@hellocotton.com indicating the link to your page and the article in question.

I published an article by mistake on my bog, it now appears on my Hellocotton page. Can I delete it?

Yes, you can delete it from your Profile page by clicking on the "edit" link under the specific post and pressing “delete this article”.
Careful this move is permanent.

I just signed up on Hellocotton, I created my page and submitted my blog address, but my articles don't show up. Why ?

Did you properly type in your blog's RSS feed ? (you don't know what a RSS feed is ? No worries, the explanation comes a little bit further down the page)

My article's pictures don't show up on my Hellocotton page, why is that ?

Your RSS feed must be curtailed. To correct it, go to your blog settings page and pick the option "full RSS feed".

My article's pictures are replaced by empty snapshots on my Hellocotton page. Where does the problem come from ?

There must have been a slight error when publishing. The easiest way around it is to click on the "edit" button right beneath your article (on your Hellocotton page that is) and to paste the URL to the picture you wish to attach to your post.

How to change an article's category ? (For instance, my blog is essentially about food, but today's post is about fashion)

You can change this via the "edit" button for you article (on your Hellocotton page that is). This way you can link each article to the category you wish.

Registering my blog on Hellocotton, is it good for search engine optimization ?

All the links that Hellocotton directs to your blog are 301 redirect which are taken into account by Google. Hellocotton will allow you to stand out for requests when you didn't before. And sometimes, your blog and articles on Hellocotton will be present at the same time, which gives you twice the chance to have a visit on your blog. Therefore, yes, Hellocotton is a good tool for search engine optimization.

When I follow a member must I follow her articles ?

No, you can choose to hide the articles from a member. In order to do so go to your "Newsfeed", when passing over an article a little cross shows up at the top right of the article. By clicking on it you will still be friends with this person put their publications will not be visible anymore. However you will still see their status updates.

Spam messages keep popping up on my Hellocotton page, mister weirdo keeps hitting on me, what can I do to get rid of both of them ?

You can report a user by clicking on the button "report a user" located on each member's page. You can also send us an e mail at contact@hellocotton.com and explain the problem.

How are selected the top blogs of the day featured on the Hellocotton homepage ?

It is a balance between the articles popularity (votes) and an editorial selection. Our team picks out every day the posts which are both popular and qualitative.

My account

I lost my login information, how to find it ?

On Hellocotton your login is your e mail. Try logging in with the email address you received a confirmation e mail from us on when subscribing. You can also click on "Forgot your password" when trying to log in. If you still can't log in, you can send an e mail to contact@hellocotton.com precising the URL to your blog (if you have one). We will send you your login via e mail as quickly as possible.

How to delete my Hellocotton account for good ?

Simply send an e mail to contact@hellocotton.com
In order for us to complete your request you must provide us with your login as well as with a written note testifying that you are the owner of the page along with an ID photocopy. Your request will be delt with as quickly as possible.

I receive a lot of e mails via Hellocotton since I subscribed : friendship requests, topics follow up… how can I keep my mailbox from imploding ?

You can manage the e mails Hellocotton sends you via the "Preferences" section.
If you still wish to receive our e mails we recommend that you create a filter.
